I used to love this place but not any longer. I was an Evanston native when I first start using the location they have on Howard St, but now I like in Skokie so I prefer to use the one located on Dempster St. I’ve supported this establishment for many years and never had a bad thing to say about them until now. Recently, I came in to get my dress alternated and pressed for an event I had the following day. The tailor there has done so many of my clothes so I wasn’t worried one bit about the alterations. Once I put the gown on, he suggested that all I needed was a press because he didn’t want to ruin it and I respected that so I went ahead and put it in for a press only. I was getting ready the next day (night of the event) and when I went to zip up my gown, part of the zipper came off the track. Mind you, when I dropped it off the day before, there were 0 issues with the gown. The zipper itself was still functional and everything. I couldn’t even go to the event because they were closed and I couldn’t figure out how to fix the issue myself. The following day I went with my mother so she could drop some items off and so I could speak with someone about getting my zipper fixed. The associate working there I recognized as an employee who worked over at the Howard location as well and I remembered immediately during our conversation just how rude she was. I explained the story to her and she went on to say that I only asked for the gown to be pressed and that they don’t touch zippers when they only press items. I responded to her saying that may be true but until I came and got it pressed, my zipper was still functional. She then proceeded to call another associate over and summed up my story to her as well and even commented that the zipper on my dress was a “cheap zipper” and insinuated that it could’ve broken for some other reason. I imported that gown from the UK. It wasn’t super expensive, but it certainly wasn’t cheap by any means so I didn’t appreciate that nasty comment whatsoever. I chose not to respond at all to that accusation and stood there while she proceeded to demean me in front of the other customers . I didn’t ask for a refund only that the zipper be repaired because it’s a gown I can certainly wear some other time in the future. She was very unhelpful and instructed me to come back the next day at 6:30 in the morning to speak with the owner to rectify this issue. I’m not an argumentative person, so I left it at that. I didn’t go the next day to speak to anyone because I decided I should be spending my money where I’m appreciated and not attacked. I’ve been supporting this business well over a decade and you’d think that’d count for something, but of course it didn’t. I don’t plan on patronizing this establishment any longer and I don’t suggest new comers should either. I think a lot of the staff there, especially the woman who “assisted” me, should be retrained on their customer service skills. I’m not mentioning her name out of respect for myself because I’m not the type of person to try to mess of someone’s livelihood, but she knows who she is.

Great people with excellent customer service. I find the prices a bit too much for my budget and recently went over to One Price Cleaners. Kenny's is a great place and I miss going there but for me it costs too much, I had to find a place that was a bit more reasonably priced. $7.29 for a shirt is way too much and $5.75 for a t-shirt cleaning was crazy. Pants cost almost $6.00 to clean, whereas One Price cleaners do them for $3.99, that's a significant savings. I still give Kenny 4 stars for excellent cleaning, friendliness and exceptional customer service, but the pricing keeps them from getting 5 stars.

They are distroying clothes!!! They destroyed my new down jacket, italyan Peserico brand, in value of 1500$!!! I got this jacket for Christmas, wear it couple of times, ( no stains, just very light dirt on the sleeve) so I broght it to clean up, it’s a light powder pink. I told them twice to be very careful because is a very good fabric, not to clean it with warm or hot water, just cold and dry it with air dry, not hot, and alone. I came next day for pick up and the jacket is scratched all over, like they pull the fabric and the colour is not light pink is greyish pink!!! The lady tried to tell me that is the design like that, could not belive it to my ears. After long arguing I told her that I wanna talk w the manager, and she told me to come next day. Next day the owner told me that they put the jacket ALONE NOW, to wash it again. They did not follow anything what I told them, that’s why the jacket has greysh tones, and is all damaged. Sunday went to see how the jacket is, they just steam it a little to cover the scratesches, terrible and the owner said cannot do anything bc both lost, I lost my jacket and him 15$ refund and their 10$ bonus for a 1500$. Liars, totally unprofessional, rude. Still good that there is a law for the one who damage the clients items.
